Admission to the permanent collections of the Palace (Grand Apartments, Hall of Mirrors, etc.), the Trianon Palaces, Marie-Antoinette’s Estate, the temporary exhibitions plus the audio guides is free for:

under-18s, young people under 26 years old who are residents of the European Union, schoolchildren, teachers assigned to a French establishment bearing their “Pass Education”, disabled persons and their accompanying adult, and French job-seekers on presentation of documentary proof dating from less than 6 months before, etc.

The Royal Chapel opens its doors on the 1st Sunday of the month from April to September for a free visit-concert.

MUSICAL THURDAYS AT THE ROYAL CHAPEL

Every Thursday starting in April (except certain exceptional occasions), come and discover the masterpieces of the French and European repertoires of the 17th and 18th centuries at the Royal Chapel. These pieces are performed by Les Pages & Les Chantres of the Centre de Musique Baroque de Versailles.

At 3 pm and 3.30 pm: Organ concert for Palace visitors (approximately 20 minutes)
At 5.30: Organ recital and choir performance (approximately 1h15 minutes)

Free admission within the limits of the Royal Chapel’s capacity upon presentation of a Palace admission ticket.

Every Monday preceding Musical Thursdays and during school holidays (Spring), students also rehearse at the Chapel from 12 pm to 6 pm, except for exceptional cases when other events are being held.

THE JEU DE PAUME ROOM

THE JEU DE PAUME ROOM

Every afternoon except Mondays, you can visit the Jeu de Paume Room, an emblematic site of the French Revolution located just a short walk from the Palace.

2 tour options:
- Individual visits, Tuesdays to Sundays from 2 pm to 5.45 pm
- Guided tours on Saturdays at 3 pm (sign up with the Tourist Office)

Fountains Shows and Musical Gardens

The Musical Fountains Shows takes place every week-end from April to October.

Musical Fountains Show

Set out to explore the fountains and groves with their water features spouting to the rhythm of music. Several circuits are available to enable you to enjoy the numerous masterpieces of the gardens or lead you to their most secret spots.

On Saturdays and Sundays from March 28 to November 1st 2015, on Tuesdays from May 26 to June 30 2015 as well as on some additional dates (Friday April 3d, Friday May 8, Thursday May 14 and Tuesday July 14 2015).

The fountains are activated at weekends and on public holidays (Friday May 8, Thursday May 14 and Tuesday July 14 2015) from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm and from 3:30 to 5:00 pm (Neptune Fountain from 5:20 to 5:30 pm). Also on Tuesdays and Friday April 3d from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm and from 2:30 to 4:00 pm (without the Neptune Fountain). 

Musical Gardens

To enjoy the gardens in fine weather, the groves and other preserved areas of the gardens are accessible on certain Tuesdays from April to October for a musical promenade: a chance to discover some of the finest features or the French-style formal gardens designed by André Le Nôtre.

Tuesdays from March 31st to May 19 as well as Tuesdays from July 7 to October 27 2014.

The Fountains Night Show

When night falls, the gardens are transformed to offer a stunning visual and musical treat as fountains and groves come alive with colourful and dramatic lighting effects. This year once more, lighting and stage-effects artists will light up the gardens and display their surprising installations to the strollers: water features in the Mirror Fountain, lasers streaking across the dark in the Colonnade Grove and the fireworks display in front of the Grand Canal by the Groupe F to conclude the evening’s entertainment.

Just before the Fountains Night Show, the musicians and dancers of the Compagnie Baroque await you to join in a French-style ball in the sumptuous setting of the Hall of Mirrors.

Every Saturday from June 20 to September 19 2015 (except on July 4 2015).

Departures at 6:30, 6:50, 7:10, 7:30 and 7:50.
