Baroque exuberance

4 June – 26 September 2010

Till the 26 September 2010, the Château de Versailles is exceptionally opening the groves of the Jardin français of the Petit Trianon to two creative talents of the new ‘plant’ wave.

The artist-designer Alexis Tricoire, partner of Jardins de Gally, and the architect-landscape designer Jean-Philippe Poirée-Ville, are exhibiting works here that are as ephemeral as they are original. Intended to dialogue with the patterned layout of the French-style formal garden, they introduce the fantasy, curves and movement of the baroque. Whether they wish to present a “poetic-playful series to surprise people into discovery and understanding” (Alexis Tricoire) or to stage “a new relationship between man and nature” by evoking the “links uniting the Sky and buildings” (Jean-Philippe Poirée-Ville), the two designers have each and very differently developed a daring, unusual and spectacular approach that gives back to the gardens their festive and enchanting dimension.

Exhibition presented from 4 June to 26 September 2010, in the Jardin français of the Petit Trianon, located in the estate of Marie-Antoinette. For more information on the opening times and tickets, click here.
