Snow White

Snow White - Tuesday 30th June & Wednesday 1st of July

After some abstract forms, Angelin Preljocaj wanted “to tell a story” and to offer himself a “magical and enchanted” interlude. This version, which is faithful to the Grimm brothers, exploits symbols which appeal to adults and children alike. “The stepmother is undoubtedly the central character of the story”; using a well-known argument, the choreographer can thus concentrate “on what the bodies, energies and space have to say”.

With Snow White, Angelin Preljocaj has brought together twenty-six dancers from his company to create a grand contemporary romantic ballet. In the tradition of the major works of the dance repertoire, such as Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty or La Sylphide, he intends to captivate us around the legend of Snow White, in the heart of a choreographic world that is both baroque and fantastic set to the music of Gustav Mahler.
