The Public Establishment of the palace, museum and national estate of Versailles and Wikimédia France signed on Monday 14 February 2011 a partnership to allow greater dissemination of the rich historical, architectural and artistic heritage of the palace and estate of Versailles. It is designed to facilitate the accessibility and the creation of contents on the theme of the Palace of Versailles on all the Wikimedia projects. One of the aspects of this partnership is the residence of a Wikimedian within the palace of Versailles from 14 February to 12 August 2011.

This partnership is open to all: discover its achievements and don’t hesitate to contribute! We count on you to participate in this tremendous adventure for sharing and disseminating knowledge!

Wikimédia France

Wikimédia France promotes in France the free dissemination of Wikimédia knowledge and projects: the celebrated on-line encyclopaedia Wikipedia, as well as Wikimedia Commons, Wikisource, Wiktionary, etc. A not-for-profit organisation founded in 2003, it acts as an intermediary between individuals or institutions and the communities of users who run the Wikimedia projects.
