Palace of Versailles audioguide

The audioguide accompanies visitors along their self-guided tours of the Palace (Grand Apartments of the King and Queen, the King’s Chamber, the History Gallery, Apartments of Mesdames).

It is available in 11 languages : French, English, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, Portuguese, Korean and Polish.

To enjoy the Palace and explore it at your own pace while having fun, there is a version of the audioguide adapted to French-speaking children age 8 and older. Their tour guide is Muce, who lived in Louis XIV’s times.

To explore the history of Versailles, some ten theme visits with a qualified guide give you access to little-known areas that are not open for individual visits.

Picnic
A relaxation and picnic area (not heated) is available in the gardens, near the Palace. This covered tent is entered from the gardens alongside the Palace. See the map
Outside this area, picnics are only allowed in the Park and at the Swiss Pool (outside the Estate, across from the Orangerie). See the map

It is easy to get around the Estate with the mini-train and electric vehicles.
