Thinking green
For a number of years now, the Palace of Versailles has been rolling out a green policy aimed at recycling some of the materials used for its exhibitions and building works: signs, set designs and large-scale decorative tarps.
In a bid to pursue its commitment to protecting the environment while supporting an artisanal brand, the Palace of Versailles decided to once again join forces with Le Lissier. Fabrics taken from set designs for past Versailles exhibitions served as inspiration for the brand in designing this collection. This textile was made by renowned Venice-based manufacturer Rubelli.
This year’s collaboration has resulted in an elegant collection of trainers featuring fabric woven with golden thread in a nod to the finery of Versailles’ court, paired with a unique cut-out.
