Spotlight on Cultural Employment Opportunities

From 19 to 27 January 2023, the Palace of Versailles will be participating in the second “Spotlight on Cultural Employment Opportunities” event. Launched by the Culture Pass, this event is an opportunity for young people and students to attend a series of exclusive meetings over ten days led by professionals working in the culture industry.

Exclusive meetings

In January 2023, the Palace of Versailles will be giving young people a chance to find out about job opportunities connected to its day-to-day operations, by organising exclusive encounters with six cultural workers from the palace.

This will be an opportunity for young people to find out about the various lines of work at the palace, involving conservation (“Scenes and Mechanics”), cultural production (“The Art of Story-telling”), film and audiovisual arts (“Action! Cinema at Versailles” and “From Fake News to the Silver Screen”), artistic creation (“Contemporary Art x Versailles”) and events (“Feasts and Diplomacy”)

These discussions will be an occasion to find out about careers and inspiring trajectories, as young people seek to find their own paths.

How to book ?

For young people and students (aged 18-25): You can book a place at these meetings via the online ticketing services or Culture Pass application using your credits.

For classes: these encounters may also be reserved for school groups, at the price of 75€ . Reservations are made through the Adage platform specifying “Château de Versailles” as the cultural partner.

Conservation with « Scenes and Mechanics »

Nestling in the Trianon gardens, the Queen’s Theatre contains a great treasure in the form of ancient stage machinery. Concealed by the stage and miraculously well-preserved, it is used for changes in décor. Meet the machine operators at the Theatre and watch the machinery come back to life, using ropes, hoists and pulleys to shift the décor. The three blows sound, and the magic starts to work!
