Aboard the little train you can explore the park and its farthest corners, such as the Trianon palaces, in a Baroque musical ambiance without getting tired and sheltered from the weather. You can also learn more about the Estate’s history and locations using the little train’s audio guide.

Rates

Rates: €8 full rate

Reduced rate: €6.10 for under 18s and Friends and Subscribers of the Palace of Versailles, free for children aged under 12. You can get on and off at different stops within a single circuit.

Single journey: €4.30 

Audio guide hire: €4

Payment: cash or cheque at the gate at the Palace’s North Terrace, cash or cheque from the conductor at other stops.
No card

People with a return ticket have priority over those who wish to take a return on the waiting time.

Opening hours

  • In high season (April to October), daily 11:30 am to 7:10 pm, until 5:10 pm only on Mondays.
  • In mid-season (mid-February to late March, first half of November and during the Christmas holidays), daily 11:10 am to 5:10 pm.
  • In low season (mid-November to mid-February, except for the Christmas holidays), Tuesday to Sunday 11:10 am to 5:10 pm.

Access

In the gardens and the Park.

There is a hut for information and payment by card at the Water Parterre North Terrace stop next to the Palace; in addition to this stop in the gardens you can also locate the three stops in the park on the interactive map.

Full circuit: Palace North Terrace – Petit Trianon – Grand Trianon – top of Grand Canal (near Little Venice) – Palace North Terrace (circuit in either direction). See all the stops on the interactive map

practical information

Audio guide languages: French, English, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Mandarin Chinese and Japanese.

Accessible to people with reduced mobility with the aid of the driver. The train can hold one or two wheelchairs.

Group bookings: Group rate from 10 people (€5.90 per person). The little train is also available for private hire with a customisable route, rates upon request and booking required via the booking form.
