The Palace of Versailles is presenting an exhibition devoted to the Grand Dauphin, Louis de France, the eldest child of Louis XIV. It traces the life of this often overlooked prince. As heir to the throne, he was the focal point of Bourbon dynastic ambitions, without ever reigning, but his education reflects the destiny which was his due.

Virtual Reality: The Sun King’s Lost Gardens
For the first time, the Palace of Versailles is opening its doors for an extraordinary virtual reality (VR) journey back in time! Immerse yourself in 1682 and join André Le Nôtre, Louis XIV’s gardener, on a special tour of specific groves of the gardens which are no existing anymore.

Malandain Ballet Biarritz: Les Saisons
This creation by Thierry Malandain brings together in a single programme The Four Seasons by Vivaldi and The Four Seasons composed by Giovanni Antonio Guido. Combining these two scores is a bold challenge, for although they share the same era and a common celebration of nature, they remain profoundly different.

The Count of Artois, prince and patron. The youth of the last king of France
The result of a partnership between the Centre des Monuments Nationaux and the Palace of Versailles, this exhibition traces the life of the Count of Artois, brother of Louis XVI and the future Charles X, through his residences, his artistic projects, and his princely passions.

Les jeux d'enfants à la toilette
The Palace of Versailles recently enriched its collections with the acquisition of Les Jeux d'enfants à la toilette (Children Playing at the Toilet) by Charles Antoine Coypel, a painting that belonged to Madame de Pompadour and was confirmed to be in Versailles at the time of her death. Created in 1728, this work, long kept in private collections, has thus returned to the place where it was once displayed.
Restoration of the painted ceiling in the Diana Room
The restoration of the ceiling of the Diana room, started in October 2024 is almost finished, revealing the restored splendor of its painted vault and stucco. Discover the behind-the-scenes look at the prodigious work of the painting restorers.
