Marie-Antoinette, a Queen's Destiny: a fire and light show

250th anniversary of Marie-Antoinette's wedding

In July 2019, Groupe F’s magnificent pyrotechnical show returns to the royal setting of the gardens of Château de Versailles Orangery! The fate of France’s tragic queen is presented over a background of magical pyrotechnical and light effects, highlighting the landmark dates of her life: from the Lisbon earthquake on the eve of her birth to Napoleon’s victories, without forgetting American Independence and the Battle of Valmy… In these four shows, firework specialists will take you on a journey through time in a scenography with fireworks, flames, videos, luminous characters and fire bearers celebrating the historical figure of Marie-Antoinette.

The show is subtitled in English.

Court costumes

In 2020 Les Fêtes Galantes, a formal evening at court held in the Hall of Mirrors, and The Grand Masked Ball of the Palace of Versailles are returning to allow you to experience royal splendour, if you are in period costume (obligatory).

The seventh edition's theme of the Versailles Fêtes Galantes will be The Royal wedding.

Dressed in a costume as fine as those worn in Versailles during its finest periods, you are invited to discover the refined and artistic atmosphere of the evening entertainments organized by King Louis XIV, an unforgettable and timeless experience.

The Grand Masked Ball - 10th anniversary

Welcome to the Château de Versailles Orangerie and its garden for an unforgettable and offbeat festival night! Dancers, performers, and artists will deploy their talent through the evening in a staging designed for the third year running by the artistic director and choreographer Hakim Ghorab. DJ Michel Canitrot will keep you dancing all night under the eaves of the Orangerie and until dawn for an incredible after in the Ballroom Grove. Dress up in your finest baroque costume, put on your mask and take part in the Château de Versailles Grand Masked Ball for an unforgettable evening!

Versailles Electro

After a memorable first edition of VERSAILLES ELECTRO in 2019 with the Ed Banger label and a surprise visit by Tyler the Creator, the Château de Versailles team is opening wide its garden gates to welcome thousands of clubbers on Saturday 23rd May 2020 from 8.30 pm to midnight.

A festive electronic and flamboyant programme:

Top of the bill for this unique evening in an exceptional setting, at the foot of the Hall of Mirrors, on the Terraces overlooking the French style gardens of the most visited château in the world : the JUSTICE duo !

L’IMPÉRATRICE will lead off with a DJ set. The Pop group, always at home behind the turntables, promises a tremendously disco set !

The pillars of French electro music KITTIN and BUSY P will follow with a B2B four hands set: a top-level meeting between Miss Kittin, a pioneer of the French techno scene, and Pedro Winter, the ambassador of French touch, who is curating this event.

fountains shows of Versailles

Every year the Musical Fountain Shows, the Musical Gardens and the Fountains Night Shows of the Palace of Versailles bring liveliness to the French style gardens, which are listed as a UNESCO heritage site, to the sounds of music by Lully.

There are 15 groves - little gardens at the heart of the French-style garden - created by André Le Nôtre, 55 fontains et basins, hundreds of statues that the Musical Fountain Shows allow you to discover, oor rediscover, with your family or friends.
