LaFayette and the American Independence
Whilst Gilbert de Lafayette was fighting in America, his wife Adrienne de Noailles remained in France. The letters exchanged between the couple between 1776 and 1784 reveal a different perspective on the American War of Independence: that of a woman who also played a historic yet little-known role in this revolution. Close to the royal court, to Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette, she knew how to spread the word and ensure it reached the right ears.
A historical drama presented by the Palace of Versailles to mark the 250th anniversary of American Independence and the first ties between Versailles and the United States, written by Elisa Chalaye, produced by Image et Stratégie and directed by Julien Rochard.
400 years of the Palace of Versailles
“Versailles, the Immortal”, a podcast for the 400 years of the palace.
Take a look back at 400 years of history of the Palace of Versailles, in the company of Pierre Duchamp... or shall we say the ghost of Pierre Duchamp. You know! Pierre: the gamekeeper of Louis XIII, who has haunted the place since 1623!
Century after century, year after year, Pierre saw the simple hunting lodge transformed into a palace, and the palace becoming a museum! He witnessed major historical events and others more intimate, he even was invited to the biggest diplomatic receptions and film shoots ... Put your headphones on, and listen to Pierre, he has so many stories to tell! It took a 400-year-old ghost to tell so many things, right?
“Versailles the Immortal”, a historical fiction proposed by the Palace of Versailles, written by Emmanuel Suarez and produced by Moustic Studio, for the 400th anniversary of the Palace of Versailles!
