From 21 September to 23 November, the Palace of Versailles is running a Instagram photography competition around the theme of atumn. Take part for free by posting pictures using the hashtag #VersaillesFall on your Instagram account.

Theme

The competition's theme is "autumn". Your approach to this theme must be creative, aesthetically pleasing and personal. 

As an exemple, you could picture : 

  • The palace
  • The gardens 
  • The Versailles estate 
  • The Trianon estate

The aime of the competition is to present one aspect of Versailles, highlighted by the autumn. 

To participate in the competition, you must :  

  1. Follow the Palace's Instagram account : @chateauversailles 
  2. Post your pictures using #VersaillesAutomne / #VersaillesFall 
  3. Tag the Palace's account @chateauversailles son every picture

A jury composed of staff members of the institutions and professional photographers will select 9 pictures by 9 different participants. 

The selection criteria are as follows : 

  • match with the theme
  • originality
  • aesthetic value of the work 

The picture's number of "likes" will have no impact on the winners' selection.

The 9 winners will be invited to a meeting of instagrammers, an "instameet", wich will take place on Thursday 10 December from 17:30 to 22:00. Guided by a team of instagrammers of the Palace, they will have the chance to go on a private tour of the State Apartments and the Gallery of Battles.

The winners may be accompanied by a person of their choice.
