The Palace of Versailles is holding a photography contest on Instagram with the hashtag #VersaillesDetails from June 1st to August 31st 2017. To take part, upload your best shots to your Instagram account.

An inexhaustible source of photographic inspiration, the Palace and gardens of Versailles are bursting with gems and surprises. These major historic features include large open spaces, refined groves, delicate fabrics, elegant statues and others. This summer, look at some of the little details of Versailles and show us your favourite parts.

 

How the contest will be run

  1. Follow the Instagram account  : @chateauversailles 
  2. Publish your photos using  #VersaillesDetails 
  3. Identify the Palace’s account in each photo.

A panel of judges composed of Catherine Pégard, President of the Public Institution of the Palace, Museum and National Estate of Versailles, the Palace of Versailles professional photographers and the @chateauversailles Instagram team will select 20 winning photos (from 20 different participants). The winning shots will be chosen based on the following criteria:

  • compatibility with the theme of “The details of Versailles”,
  • technical quality of the photo,
  • originality of approach and artistic value.

The 20 winning photos will be published on the @chateauversailles Instagram account and on www.chateauversailles.fr.

The 20 winners will be invited to a photography session and stroll in the form of an InstaMeet during a special evening event on the 20th of September 2017 from 6.30pm to 10pm. Accompanied by the Palace’s team of instagramers, they will have the opportunity to photograph iconic locations of the Palace, with the option to invite one guest of their choosing.
