Every day except Mondays and public holidays

Behind the walls and the pageantry of the Grand Apartments lies the private apartments of the Kings. Discover the intimate atmosphere and refined decoration of the living spaces: the dining room, the Clock Cabinet, the Cabinet d’Angle with Louis XV’s rolltop desk – considered as one of the most famous pieces of furniture in the world – Louis XVI’s library, etc.

  This tour have some narrow pathways which do not exceed 80 cm

The Royal Stables

The Royal Stables

Over the course of your visit, discover the stables with its 40 horses, wander through the schools and admire the magnificent, wooden, Italian-style arena, where you may catch a glimpse of the riders in training.

You will also learn about the history of the ‘Haute Ecole’, whose primary ambition is to provide top-level training combining equestrian dressage with other artistic disciplines.

The Jeu de Paume room

The Jeu de Paume room

Every afternoon except Mondays, you can visit the Jeu de Paume Room, an emblematic site of the French Revolution located just a short walk from the Palace.

Discover the Royal Chapel's organ

The Royal Chapel opens its doors on the 1st Sunday of each month at 3:30PM from December to June for a visit-concert. Listen to the masterpieces of the french classical organ music played by Jean-Baptiste Robin, François Espinasse, Frédéric Desenclos and Michel Bouvard.

- From December to March: Free admission within the limits of the Royal Chapel’s capacity upon presentation of an admission ticket. Booking in advance is advised.
- For 3 April and 5 June 2016:  admission for a fee and reservation required.
- On the 1 May 2016 : no concert due to the Palace being closed.

Musical Thursdays at the Royal Chapel

Musical Thursdays at the Royal Chapel

Every Thursday from November to June (except certain exceptional occasions), come and discover the masterpieces of the French and European repertoires of the 17th and 18th centuries at the Royal Chapel. These pieces are performed by Les Pages & Les Chantres of the Centre de Musique Baroque de Versailles.

At 3 pm and 3.30 pm: Organ concert for Palace visitors (approximately 20 minutes)
At 5.30: Organ recital and choir performance (approximately 1h15 minutes)

Free admission within the limits of the Royal Chapel’s capacity through the Gabriel Aisle (entrance B) from 5:00PM.

On 5 November, 21 January and 18 February, the concerts will be held in the Battles Gallery.

Every Monday preceding Musical Thursdays and during school holidays (Spring), students also rehearse at the Chapel from 12 pm to 6 pm, except for exceptional cases when other events are being held.
