Due to the expected heat wave, the “Gardens of the Enlightenment, 1750-1800” exhibition at the Grand Trianon will be closed until Wednesday.
Through Wednesday, July 15, the Palace will close at 4:30 pm (last admission at 3:45 pm). The Trianon Estate will close at 4:15 pm (last admission at 3:30 pm). The St. Antoine gate is closed to cars.
We invite you to adjust the pace of your visit and take advantage of the estate’s cooler areas. 
 

 

Restoration of the Royal Chapel

3 years to span the centuries

More than forty years after its last major restoration, the Royal Chapel requires urgent intervention on the roof timbers, the roof and decorative lead work, the statues and window frames and stained glass. Experience the restoration of this architectural masterpiece.

The Royal Chapel has been under renovation for 3053 days.

The end of the construction is scheduled for spring 2021.

What are the different stages of the project?

The stages are as follows: assembly of the scaffolding and the temporary umbrella roof, removal of the existing roof, restoration and consolidation of the roof timbers, restoration of all the stonework, restoration of the window openings in the attic level, restoration of all the lead elements and the gilding.
