Versailles in photos in Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport

Artistic collaboration

ADP Group has organised a photo exhibition dedicated to the Palace of Versailles for the second time in Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport.

The exhibition

From 01 July 2016 to 01 July 2019

This second photo exhibition, comprising 38 images, now enables the public to stroll through the heart of the Sun King’s residence without leaving Terminal 1 of Paris Charles de Gaulle. The photographic immersion located along the access tunnel to Satellite 3 invites travellers to admire the Estate’s architecture, sculptures and decoration.

The images reflect the aesthetics of the location, including the chequered floor in the Lower Gallery, the vaulted ceiling in the Gallery of Great Battles and the succession of Louis XIV rooms, and are organized into three chromatic themes (blue, green and gold), enabling the site to be discovered in a new way. Playing with the effects of light and shadow, the exhibition highlights the symbolism of the sun during the emblematic reign of Louis XIV.

"The Palace of Versailles receives visitors from all over the world, and travellers from all over the world pass through the terminals of Paris Charles de Gaulle. We are offering them a first insight" explains Catherine Pégard.

ADP Group

ADP Group builds, develops and operates airports such as Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Paris-Orly. The group is the creator of the Paris Aéroport brand which is dedicated to travellers and demonstrates the group’s commitment to increasing the attractiveness of Paris.

In January 2013 a Museums Area with free admission was installed in terminal 2E of Paris-Charles de Gaulle. To improve the passenger experience, ADP Group holds exhibitions in its terminals in addition to those organised by the Museums Area.

From 27 October to 24 November 2014 an initial photo exhibition titled "The Gardens of the Palace of Versailles" was on display in terminals in Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Paris-Orly.
