The Count of Artois, prince and patron. The youth of the last king of France

The result of a partnership between the Centre des Monuments Nationaux and the Palace of Versailles, this exhibition traces the life of the Count of Artois, brother of Louis XVI and the future Charles X, through his residences, his artistic projects, and his princely passions.

During a public auction, the Palace of Versailles exercised its right of pre-emption to acquire a pastel self-portrait by Adélaïde Labille-Guiard. This sublime self-portrait is essential to Adélaïde Labille-Guiard's career. She presents herself as an accomplished and recognised artist, on a par with her male peers.

Talk to the sculptures of the Gardens of Versailles

The Palace of Versailles offers, thanks to a partnership with Ask Mona and OpenAI, a unique experience for its visitors: twenty iconic fountains and statues from the Gardens become narrators of their own stories. For the first time at Versailles, these masterpieces of heritage speak and engage in conversations with the public.
