Bach: Six Brandenburg concertos
In 1721, Bach dedicated a cycle of six concertos to the Margrave of Brandenburg, uncle of the King of Prussia. A veritable "art of the concerto" in the manner of Bach, these "six concerts à plusieurs instruments" are of rare virtuosity, involving not only the strings but also various soloists such as the harpsichord and trumpet, in a blend of styles where the Italian concerto dominates, but with an extraordinary science of German-style contrapuntal interweaving, and magnificent French influences.

Exceptional opening of Trianon-sous-Bois
To mark the 150th anniversary of the Third Republic, the Palace of Versailles is opening from April 1, in the Grand Trianon, the Trianon-sous-Bois wing. Open every weekend, self-guided and guided tours, from 12:00pm to 6:30pm, and during the week, guided tours only.

The Portrait of Louis XV as a child
An exceptional pastel, the Portrait of Louis XV as a child by Rosalba Carriera, is on display at the palace from Tuesday March 4, 2025. In this intimate portrait of the King, the artist expresses her virtuoso pastel technique in the velvety texture of the skin, the brilliance and softness of the gaze, and the movement and lightness of the curls.
