Restoration of the Royal Chapel
More than forty years after its last major restoration, the Royal Chapel required urgent work on its roof timbers, the roof and decorative lead work, the statues and the window frames and stained glass. Follow the restoration of this architectural masterpiece here.

The Boudoir of the Marie-Antoinette’s Hamlet
The Boudoir was a reception venue with an elegant interior (white marble, parquet and mirrors) that was reserved for the Queen’s most privileged guests. It is currently undergoing full restoration both inside and outside.

Built in 1702 according to Jules Hardouin-Mansart’s plans and Louis XIV’s instructions, the Buffet d’eau is a masterful composition that is unique among all the gardens and groves of Versailles. Recently restored, the Buffet d'Eau fountain has been restored to its former magnificence, and visitors can once again enjoy its water features.

The Portrait of Pierre Mignard is one of many depictions of artists presented in the exhibition dedicated to Hyacinthe Rigaud. Élodie Vaysse, curator of the exhibition, talks about a portrait which was recently restored thanks to the patronage of Mrs Krystyna Campbell-Pretty and her family.

Interview with Gilles Dupuis, decorative painter
In June 2021, restoration work started on the Dauphine’s Private Chamber, formerly the residence of Maria Josepha of Saxony, wife of Louis of France and mother of Louis XVI, to restore it to its former colours. To this end, painter and decorator Gilles Dupuis has embarked on this project as a skills-based patronage operation.

A Sèvres “fond rose” (pink ground) porcelain mustard pot belonging to Louis XV has entered the collections of the Palace of Versailles thanks to the patronage of the Fondation La Marck.
