The Palace of Versailles is getting ready to host an extraordinary sporting event. On July 12, 2026, the Ironman 70.3 will bring together athletes from around the world to push their limits across a 70.3-mile course. The Pièce d’Eau des Suisses will take center stage, providing a stunning setting for the swimming portion of the race.

On Sunday, July 12, 2026, the Ironman 70.3 will take place in Versailles, where athletes will push themselves across a 70.3-mile course while experiencing the city’s rich history and iconic landscapes. For the occasion, the Palace of Versailles will host the swim portion of the race in the Pièce d’Eau des Suisses. This 13-hectare body of water was excavated between 1679 and 1682 by a Swiss Guards regiment, from which it takes its name. During the running portion of the race, athletes will once again pass alongside the Pièce d’Eau des Suisses before finishing on Avenue de Paris, directly in front of the Palace of Versailles.

It is possible to purchase a combined Musical Gardens, Musical Fountains Show + Trianon estate ticket:

The Musical Fountains show and the Musical Gardens
From April 1 to November 1, 2026, enjoy the Musical Fountains Show in the gardens, with the groves opened for the occasion. The fountains are running throughout the day.
The Night Fountains Show
Every Saturday from June 6 to September 19, 2026, from 8:30p.m to 11:05p.m, as night falls, the fountains and groves come alive with water and color. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to experience the gardens of the Palace of Versailles from a new perspective, with a breathtaking show featuring spectacular lighting effects, water displays, and a fireworks finale over the Grand Canal to close the evening.
Gardens of the Enlightenment, 1750-1800
The Grand Trianon invites you to discover the exhibition "Gardens of the Enlightenment, 1750-1800", from May 5 to September 27, 2026. Visit the exhibition to learn more about 18th-century landscape gardening, through nearly 160 works, including paintings, drawings, furniture, architectural plans, and costumes.
The Perfumer’s Garden
The Perfumer’s Garden is open free of charge and is accessible from the Bassin du Trèfle via the chemin creux. It is open to all visitors for self-guided visits every weekend during the "Gardens of the Enlightenment" exhibition, from 9 May to 27 September, from 12 pm to 6.30 pm (last admission at 5.45 pm), and is also accessible as part of guided tours (in French only).
The Perfumer's Garden projet is the fruit of incredible teamwork between the Trianon gardeners and Maison Francis Kurkdjian.
Virtual Reality: Lafayette in America
To mark the 250th anniversary of American Independence, come and experience the virtual reality journey “Lafayette in America.” Alongside the Marquis de Lafayette, cross the Atlantic, meet George Washington, explore the battlefields, and immerse yourself in this pivotal moment in history through a fully immersive experience.

The Palace is open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 9am to 6.30pm.
The estate of Trianon is open this summer from Tuesday to Sunday, from 12pm to 6.30pm. Come and enjoy the peaceful gardens of Trianon, as well as the full summer program: A Summer at Trianon.
Please note that access to the gardens of the Palace of Versailles is subject to an admission fee on days of the Musical Fountains Shows (except with a Passport ticket, Musical Gardens ticket, or Musical Fountains Show ticket)
