Following the terror attacks in Paris on Friday, November 13, 2015 and to ensure the safety of our visitors, the Palace of Versailles is strictly applying the security measures decided by the French authorities.

The Palace is open. 

It is strongly recommended not to bring suitcases and luggage to the museum. Only luggage not exceeding 55cmx35cmx20cm will be accepted.

Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience and delay which may be caused by the extra security checks at the entrances.

Entry to the Palace

If you do not have a ticket when you arrive and you are not entitled to free admission, go first to the ticket office and then to Entrance A of the Palace (reserved for individual visitors).

If you have reserved your ticket via the Internet (and you have printed it out at home) or if you are entitled to free admission (documentary proof required), go directly to Entrance A of the Palace.

To visit only the Trianon palaces and the estate of Marie-Antoinette, go directly to the entrance to these places.

You can enter the Trianon palaces and the estate of Marie-Antoinette either by going first through the Palace via the Grille d'Honneur gate, or directly via the Queen’s gate or the Saint Anthony gate. Due to the anti-terrorist security plan, the Saint Anthony gates is only accessible for pedestrians and cyclists between 9am and 5pm, and the Bailly Gate is currently closed.

The reception desk for guided tours is in the North Ministers Wing.

If you have reserved a guided tour on our online ticket office, check the starting-point of this visit on your ticket and go directly to the place indicated.

To get to the palace of Versailles, make sure to buy a "Paris - Versailles Rive Gauche" ticket (zones 1-4) (T+ ticket is not valid for this journey).

Versailles Express offers transfers to the Palace of Versailles from the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

Tuesday to Sunday: two departures per day at 8 am (back at 12:30) and 2 pm (back at 6 pm).

Transfer from Paris with a pickup in Port de la Bourdonnais (Parking of Bateaux Parisiens, at the foot of the Eiffel Tower).
